CLCF track is a running program that is appealing to all runners from ages 5-14. There are three programs to choose from: Rec Team,Racing Team, and Racing Team for high school and middle school runners. There are three season, cross country (fall), indoor track (winter) and outdoor track (spring/summer).
The cross country season takes place in the fall of each year. The CLCF season begins the last week of August.
There are two programs-a rec league and a racing team and both practice on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights from 5-6 pm. The racing team has an additional practice on Saturday mornings from 8:30-10:00. All practices will take place in Cranston at the Chafee Complex on Hope Road (next to Hope Highlands Middle School) or at Western Hills Middle School, unless otherwise specified.
The cross country program will have 1-2 developmental meets. CLCF will compete in organized races that both racing and rec runners can compete in. There are plenty of novice races that runners of various experience and ability can have success. There is a XC relay race for rec or racing to join, called an Ekiden Race in October. The entry fee for this meet is included each runner’s registration.
Anyone from the age of 7 to 14 who wants to challenge themselves and be a part of a fun team. Our coaches train our runners to make the most of their abilities. They understand that not everyone develops the same way and will modify group workouts as needed.
